Avivo Group opens new wellness clinic

Avivo Group, a healthcare service providers in the GCC, has opened an exclusive beauty-enhancement and wellness clinic in Dubai’s Box Park as aesthetic services top the list of medical tourism in the emirate.

While inaugurating the Dermalase Clinic in Al Wasl, Dubai Health Authority’s (DHA) Health Regulation Sector CEO Dr Marwan Al Mulla, said: “Health Tourism initiatives are supporting the investments in the health sector as demand is increasing. We continuously witness an increase in the demand on the specialities offered by the health facilities in Dubai, which is fertile soil for innovation in the healthcare domain.”

On his part, Avivo Group CEO Dr. Atul Anant Aundhekar, said: “The wellness industry is booming, and it shows no signs of slowing down. With Dermalase Clinic, we seek to offer a unique wellness programme combined with clinical expertise within a comfortable ambience to make one feel at home. Our aesthetic and wellness programme takes a comprehensive inside-out approach towards beauty and wellness.”

Dermalase Al Wasl-based clinic, which will be handled by two leading beauty and wellness specialists, is part of the expansion plan of Avivo Group that has presence in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Kuwait. While Dr Cherry Ezzat is a recognised anti-ageing and functional medicine practitioner, Dr Fiona Cowie is an aesthetic expert and is also well-versed in many aspects of cosmetic aesthetics.

The group already runs four beauty and wellness clinics two under the brand name Aesthetica and two as Dermalase. Dermalase Clinic offers a wide range of aesthetic procedures including skincare, laser treatments, facials, botox and fillers, body contouring, clinical dermatology, plastic surgery, wellness and anti-ageing therapies.

“There is no set menu to choose from. The clinic adopts a truly personal & customised approach and the treatment is engineered and exclusively created as per the client’s requirements. Our goal is to offer a holistic Lifestyle Management Program which transforms our patient from inside out by focusing on in-depth knowledge of nutrition, skin health and evidence-based medicine. Living a balanced life also means addressing potential health issues and evaluating all aspects of the client’s life is the first step towards planning a long-term personalized treatment plan,” said Dr Aundhekar.

“As Dubai is expected to attract 500,000 health tourists in 2021 up from about 337,000 in 2018, our team of experts at Dermalase Clinic is committed to the highest ethical standards and offer top-quality service in a highly personalised, luxurious and easy-to-access location which are the hallmarks of the emirate,” he added.

Besides new Dermalase Clinic, Avivo Group has a team of more than 100 plus qualified doctors and over 500 plus employees. “At Avivo Group, we are committed to providing high-notch health solutions to our patients at an affordable cost. Our strategy is to maximise resource optimisation to make it more pocket-friendly for our clients,” said Dr Aundhekar. “Beauty & wellness go hand in hand, holistic wellness reflects the glow on person’s face & real beauty is a reflection of good nutrition, sound sleep, exercise & great lifestyle which is stress-free. We emphasize on long term beauty solution.”

A report by Euromonitor International has forecast that the total revenues from medical tourism in the UAE is expected to grow to Dh14 billion by the end of this year and it could touch Dh19 billion by 2023. The Relatable’s 2020 Influencer Wellness report, meanwhile, has highlighted that wellness is now a $4.2 trillion global market, growing nearly twice as fast as the global economy.
